Blether with Brown: Benjy’s two views of the Glendale Sunday team

Bruce ‘Benjy’ Mitchell, a former clubmate with the Auchterhouse side of the late 1970s, sent in a couple of photos of football teams.

We recently featured the Dundee police football teams, which he also submitted.

His latest are two photos of Glendale, who were a Sunday team, which played friendlies.

“Most of the players were junior, so we could play only friendlies,” said Benjy.

“It was when their junior days finished that most of them got reinstated to amateur and joined Auchterhouse.”

The Glendale first photo was taken at Claypotts. Back row (from left) Bob Malloch, Allan Cooper, Benjy Mitchell, Jim Milne, John McInally, Ian McNab. Front row Danny Ross, Alan Duncan, Dunc Tosh, Denis Elder, Billy Mulgrew.

The Glendale follwogin picture was taken at Lochee Park changing-rooms. Back row (from left) Danny Ross, Allan Cooper, Bob Malloch, Ian McNab, Denis Elder, Dunc Tosh, Front row Benjy Mitchell, Jim Milne, Billy Mulgrew, John McInally, Jake Donnelly.

The half-faces missing was how the photo was sent in.
