Craig Stevenson and John Mackay’s aim was to check out the rivalries between some of Scotland’s most famous junior football clubs. The actual matches were not particularly important to them as it was talking to the people who run the clubs and the supporters which interested them. Luckily for the two travellers, most of these conversations took place in the pubs and clubs around the football grounds. The book not only looks at the rivalries but also gives an insight into the commitment and work of the various committees who keep their clubs afloat. Clubs in the Tayside area were visited and committee men and women were interviewed, and in many cases photographed. The book is on sale in all Waterstones stores, priced 8.99. It will also be available from Amazon and from the online shop at cheapwayroundpub.co.uk It can also be downloaded via Kindle. This article originally appeared on the Evening Telegraph website.
