Ken Pringle reminded me that a new Harris Academy is being built on the same site as the old school in Perth Road, Dundee.
“The photograph above is of the 1945-46 1st XI and was found in a cupboard prior to demolition, so it is a bit of a memento from the end of WW2,” continued Ken.
“We won more games than we lost!
“Some of the team are no longer around and the average age of those remaining would be mid-80s.
“Doug Tott in the back row is a couple of years older as he left school during the war and joined the Merchant Navy.
“He was on a Liberty ship ferrying tanks for the D-Day landings and was torpedoed by an E Boat on the way back to Dover.
