Rockwell’s Sports Cup win in 1958 (BwB, September 10) struck a chord with Michael Mulford, who reckoned there were a couple of discrepancies in the article.
“I played in that Rockwell team and there are a few details I recall differently,” said Michael, of Hogarth Drive in Cupar.
“Both matches against Butterburn finished 1-1, with Rockwell behind in both before our demon goalscorer Scott Holland equalised.
“In extra time, I had a couple of shots cleared off the line for corners and that was all that was between the teams.
“Our left-back was not ‘Derek’ Bricknal but George, named after his legendary firefighter father.
“I still have my winners medal and the cutting from The Courier.
“Historic events and happy memories.”
