John McNaughton, assistant secretary of the Logie Recreation Club in Lochee, Dundee, reckons two photos would not look out of place in BwB.
“I recently found several photos in the basement of the club, which were taken off the walls during refurbishment several years ago” said John, who has given sterling service to Logie over many decades in different capacities.
“They’ve been lying there ever since.
“I’ve been able to locate several people who were in them or their families and have given the pictures to them.
“However, I think two would look good in Blether with Brown.
“The first is the very successful Lochee Renton team, who were Scottish Cup finalists in season 1963-64.
“It’s a great photo of the team with their committee and trophies of a very successful season.
“The second is of a bowling team, which features four members of the Logie Club.
“I feel it would be good to go public with them because they may bring happy memories to other club members and families of the players involved.”
Renton’s disappointment at the failure to win the Scottish Cup that 1963-64 season was softened up by a five-fold domestic haul in the Dundee and District Juvenile FA.
The trophies are (from left) D&D Challenge Cup, JM Trophy, League Championship Shield, Samuel Cup, Angus Consolation Cup.
