Blether with Brown: Ally wasn’t first-choice 15s goalie By Evening Telegraph Reporter July 30 2014, 5:00am July 30 2014, 5:00am Share Blether with Brown: Ally wasn’t first-choice 15s goalie Share via Facebook Twitter Linkedin Whatsapp Messenger Email Post link https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/columnists/2621047/blether-with-brown-ally-wasnt-first-choice-15s-goalie/ Copy Link Dundee Schoolboys teams continue to provoke interest and debate. The U/15 side from 1967 was featured in June, with a follow-up in early July. We asked where the actual photo was taken and Charlie Brown, a former colleague, who was the right-winger in the team photo, responded. “The photo was taken, if my memory is right, at North End Park,” said Charlie. “The sheds behind us in the photo were derelict and were at the side of the main gates and changing-rooms. “Another reason I think it was there was that Ally Ballantyne was our goalkeeper in that game. “Ally was not the regular first choice that was Dave Gollan. “However, Dave was taken ill and Ally replaced him for that one game and that was at North End. “Keep up good work, always an enjoyable read.” This article originally appeared on the Evening Telegraph website.
