Blether with Brown: Dundee step out in their all-whites By John Brown May 28 2014, 9:00am May 28 2014, 9:00am Share Blether with Brown: Dundee step out in their all-whites Share via Facebook Twitter Linkedin Whatsapp Messenger Email Post link https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/columnists/2621155/blether-with-brown-dundee-step-out-in-their-all-whites/ Copy Link Several weeks ago, a photo in BwB featured Dundee FC players on a leisure day out at Crieff Hydro, enjoying a bit of pony-trekking. It seems the social convener at Dens Park was a busy man around that time as, five months later, in July 1964, he also organised a cricket match. The caption on the back of the photo doesn’t give the opposition but the venue was Coupar Angus. And it was Coupar Angus resident Alan Clark who sent in the photo. Alan said: “This photo has been in the family for around 50 years and one of my uncles, who all played cricket, might have taken part in the game. “I’ve been a lifelong fan for many years and Andy Penman is my all-time favourite Dundee player. “It’s great to see them back in the top league where they belong.” Players in the photo are (back row, from left) Unknown, Kenny Cameron, Alex Hamilton, Ally Donaldson, Bobby Waddell and Alex Stuart. Front row Bobby Cox, Andy Penman, Norrie Beattie, Unknown and Alan Gilzean. Can any reader identify the two missing names and who the opposition were on that day?
