Blether with Brown: Johnny Gall had a great left foot

John Anderson, from Broughty Ferry, identified one of the St Joseph’s JFC ‘Unknown’ players in the team group published on April 8.

The story centred around legendary Joeys goalie Bobby Fitchet.

“The Unknown stripped player at the back is definitely Johnny Gall,” said John, separating Johnny from another Unknown player alongside who had on a tracksuit.

John, who has had a long association with Riverside Athletic, continued: “Johnny had a great left foot.

“I don’t think the year 67/68 is right. It was at least a season later.”
