My works colleague Lesley Mackay, of Darvel Place in Dundee, came across an old photo of Stobswell Junior FC.
It was taken at East End Park, off Old Craigie Road/Kingsway, and her main interest is her brother Billy Mackay, who is in the middle of the front row.
Billy was a fine player in the old inside-right position with me at Butterburn Youth Club in the 1960s under Gordon Gallagher and Dave McHardy.
Another works colleague Martin Lindsay is also in the photo and he and I were team-mates at the very successful Auchterhouse AFC in the 1970s.
Other players I know well are Dave Hutchison, who was a boyhood pal and we learned our football trade on the concrete streets and pavements of Balerno Street in Douglas.
Gordon Daly is there, too, and Gordon was a couple of years ahead of me at Butterburn Youth Club.
Gordon was a guy who always had time to give encouragement to younger players.
He also went on to have a long association with Lochee United.
