Blether with Brown: Club Romano team were full of talent

Tam Saunders replied to George Furey’s article from October 25.

George supplied a photo and story of Club Romano, which stated the year 1975.

However, George has since come back to say it should have been “1968-ish”.

Back to Tam, though, and he reckoned Romano’s opposition mentioned in the tale was not Charleston Celtic but Charleston Boys.

“It was Charleston Boys and they played under Dave Maillie,” offered Tam.

“That particular game was at Beechwood Park and I think Romano won 4-0.

“It was good to see a photo of that Club Romano team, who were full of talent.
