James came across a picture in one of his father’s photo albums and sent it in. “The team is called Alyth Thistle FC and they won the Evening Telegraph Cup and Strathmore League Championship in season 1902-03. “I wonder if any BwB readers have any information on this team. “After a bit of research myself, I gathered that the photo was taken on the Alyth Bowling Club green. “There was never a football pitch there, so they must have just been using the dressing-rooms. “They played their home games at Diamond Jubilee Park on the other side of Alyth.” This article originally appeared on the Evening Telegraph website.
