It has emerged that the person on the far left of the ‘George Best at Dens Park’ photo from last month was wrongly named in the caption.
Several of Tony O’Donnell’s friends got in touch to tell me it was, indeed, him none more so than former Dundee FC captain Bobby Glennie.
Tony also went under the name of Tony Donald during his time with Radio Tay.
I was speaking to Bobby at last month’s Dundee v Raith Rovers Championship match at Dens Park, and I remarked how the low sun would affect the game in the first half.
This was in reference to the recently-demolished Bucklemaker Court and Butterburn Court multis no longer being there, and which doubled up as a sun block.
Bobby agreed, then, out of the blue, offered that, as far as he knows, he is the only Dundee FC defender to see one of his hefty clearances land in Dens Road.
I just couldn’t let that comment go and ask Dee fans if they remember any other player finding Dens Road with a massive punt.
