Moira Kennedy responded to the photo of St Clement’s FC in the August 9 edition.
“There were three brothers in the team,” said Moira.
“Second-right in the back row is the late Jim ‘Peem’ Kennedy, father of Stuart and Scott Kennedy,” said Moira.
“Fourth-right in the back row, the goalkeeper in the light jersey, is my father-in-law the late Syd Kennedy, who is Iain Kennedy’s father.
“Second-left in the middle row is the third brother, the late Willie Kennedy.
“Iain’s not sure of the year the photo was taken but Syd would have been 87 this October, so we think he may have been in his early 20s at the time.”
Catherine McArtney, who, I suspect, may be related to Moira, also came on with information independently.
She, too, focused on the three brothers, and mentions a fourth.
“Willie, Peem and Syd Kennedy are my uncles,” said Catherine.
“Their oldest brother Chic lives in Broughty Ferry and will be 100 in January.
“I’m sure he will able to identify several people in the photo.
“All three brothers indeed, four are the uncles of John Sime, who is now in Australia.
“John has featured on several occasions in BwB.
“Chic said the team was made up of lads who lived in the Greenmarket and Overgate/Nethergate part of the city.”
