This photo of the Kirkton High School U/15 team from October 1975 reveals some interesting personalities.
However, it looks as if Jimmy Hunter’s hair (second right, front row) has its own personality!
It’s certainly a hair-raising experience.
Jimmy went on to have a very successful football career in the local amateurs and juniors.
It’s great to see players staying in the game after playing and passing on their vast expertise to others in a coaching capacity.
In recent seasons, Jimmy has been coaching the Tayport Sunday amateur side, and is also involved in the Dundee United SC youth set-up.
He also turns out with many of his former colleagues in charity and benefit games.
I spoke to him just recently as he lined up for the Boars Rock All Stars against a Morgan FP Past and Present XI in the Andy McIntyre Memorial match at Glenesk Park, Dundee (home of Dundee Violet JFC).
The good news from that day was that over 3,000 was raised from the benefit match and mandatory soiree and karaoke at the Boars Rock after the game.
Back to the photo and former Montrose and Hibs striker Gary Murray is also in the photo.
Gary was once the subject of a 60,000 transfer from Links Park to Easter Road.
