Jim McIlravey played two years above me at Butterburn Youth club in the 1960s.
Goalkeeper Jim was always a very friendly guy who made time for players in the younger age-group teams.
So it is no surprise to see him still involved with various Dundee United SC teams in the Dundee and District Youth FA set-up.
He is also instrumental, along with several other DUSC coaches, of bringing through players from the age of four in their current Fun Fours set-up, which goes ahead on Saturday mornings.
Jim has sent in a number of photos from his playing days and I’ll use them in the coming weeks.
The photo is from his time in the juniors at Dundee North End in season 1968-69.
