Dundee and Angus College is seeking an “inspirational leader” to become its new principal following the retirement of incumbent Grant Ritchie.
Mr Ritchie announced last month he will step down from the role in July after more than three decades working for the college, five of which he spent in the top job.
The new principal will pick up a £130,000 salary and lead a team of nearly 1,000 staff members across three main campuses in Dundee and Arbroath.
The college said it is looking for a leader to help see it through the next stages in its growth and to “create more successful students in an already sector-leading organisation”.
Under the current leadership, the college has consistently achieved strong student success rates, particularly among younger learners and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The advert, on the Hijobs website, states: “The successful candidate will have a significant and successful track record of strategic leadership and management at senior level in a complex environment.
“They will be a respected and inspirational leader and have extensive experience of building valuable and influential relationships with individuals and organisations at a local and national level.
“Knowledge of the complex educational and political environment within which the college operates is essential. An innovative thinker with a real sense of purpose and courage is required to represent and lead the college with passion and credibility.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in Dundee and Angus, working with many partners to achieve the college’s ambitions, generate economic growth, and develop confident, successful learners who are inspired by their learning experience.”
Announcing his retirement last month, Mr Ritchie said Dundee and Angus has an “enviable reputation as the best college in Scotland” and predicted it will “continue to go from strength to strength”.
He said: “We have stable finances, creativity in abundance and marvellous opportunities all around us.
“I have loved working for Dundee and Angus College, working with our amazing staff and working alongside so many fantastic local employers, organisations, and other colleagues.
“I have so many great memories to take with me and want to thank all of those I have worked with over the years for their hard work and dedication”.
Applications will close on February 14, with the successful applicant expected to take up the role some time in July.
