A Dundee student’s mind-bending video game has proved a massive hit online.
Matt Stark, who studies computer games technology at Abertay University, took to Twitter to share a clip of his work.
The untitled game, reminiscent of Christopher Nolan’s Inception, sets the player up with a Polaroid camera – with the photographs coming to life as playable environments in the virtual world.
The 26-year-old’s video received more than 4 million views, 70,300 re-tweets and almost 240,000 likes after being posted to Twitter.
Mr Stark, a second year student, said: “It’s been pretty crazy, and the response has been fantastic.
“The initial tweet snowballed quickly and, to be honest, it was really exciting. Notifications and comments were being posted faster than I could read them.
“The feedback has been really positive, and I’ve been followed on Twitter by some of my gaming heroes.”

Following the popularity of his game, he has been invited to speak at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco in March.
Mr Stark added: “I’m really excited, it’s truly a dream come true.
“I’ll be speaking at the Experimental Gameplay Workshop which has hosted the debuts of some really significant titles such as Portal, Braid and Katamari; games which have revolutionised gaming.
“I’m really looking forward to it, and I’m grateful to Abertay for making it possible.”
Professor Ruth Falconer, head of Abertay’s division of games technology and mathematics, said: “We are very pleased to be able to provide funding for this trip, which provides Matt with a tremendous platform and networking opportunity.
“His unique idea is a great example of the innovative and creative thinking we seek to foster in our computer game students by offering a supportive and creative learning environment.”
