Police have scaled back the search for retired Dundee University lecturer Roger Fletcher, who has been missing in the Highlands for more than three weeks.
Mr Fletcher, 77, from Invergowrie, was reported missing on June 5 after he failed to return from a walk near Dornie, in the North-West Highlands, while there on holiday.
He was last seen walking on the main trunk road of the A87 in his hillwalking gear and with walking poles.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland in Inverness said the case remained open but they are reviewing the scale of the search.
She added: “After this length of time with no sighting of Mr Fletcher, we are scaling back the search.”
