A zombie walk which will see film monsters roam the streets of Dundee will take place for a fifth year in a row.
James Thomson has been organising the cult fundraiser since he was a final-year student at Dundee University.
The walk involves participants dressing up as the bedraggled un-dead and walking a set course around the city.
Zombie Walk is looking to raise funds for Meningitis Now, and has helped raise hundreds of pounds for local charities in the past.
Participants pay an entry-fee to take part in the tour, and can pay extra to have their make-up done by a professional before starting.
James said: “I started organising these walks in my honours year at Dundee University and have been travelling up from Kent to attend them since. I am not affiliated with the university, but they often help me advertise or film the events.
“We typically get about 40 attendees and most of the funds raised are attendee donations or raised by people asking for sponsorship to do the walk.
James said the walk was a very enjoyable experience, and was inspired to start it up due to his love of all things zombie.
In 2014, James proposed to his girlfriend at the end of the tour, and even had a zombie themed wedding.
The Zombie Walk is raising funds for Meningitis Now after it was put forward as a recipient by zombie walk “veteran” Julie Balfour.
Julie tragically lost her one-year-old granddaughter to meningitis, and wants to raise as much money and awareness of the disease so other people don’t have to go through the same pain.
“I have been taking part in the walk for five years, and it is such fun,” she said.
“We are raising money for Meningitis Now, which is a cause very dear to my heart.
“Our baby granddaughter, Claudia, died of sepsis when she was one, which was brought on by meningitis.
“The loss has been enormous and my whole family are broken.
“Taking part in this walk is not just about raising the money, but also about raising the profile of the disease.
“If taking part in this walk can help in anyway to fund research in to a cure for meningitis then it will be worth it.
“The walk is so enjoyable because of the number of scared and confused looks you get from members of the public.
The walk takes place on September 17, beginning at 2pm at the Dundee University student’s union.
