A unique Valentine’s Day event took place in Dundee offering locals an insight into the workings of the human heart.
The organ has become the symbol of the most romantic day of the year, adorning cards, wrapping paper and shopfronts in the run up to February 14.
Staff from Dundee University’s Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification (CAHID) carried out a live dissection of an animal heart at the Malmaison Hotel from 6pm until 8pm.
Claire Cunningham, a mortuary technician at the CAHID, led the event; which offered couples the chance to learn more about the human boy on Valentine’s Day.
