Abertay University in Dundee is celebrating after its video games degrees were ranked as the best in Europe for the fifth year running.
Abertay was ranked top in the prestigious annual The Princeton Review with the site rated number one in Europe for undergraduate level game courses.
It also broke into the top ten in the world for postgraduate courses, according to the study.
Professor Gregor White, Dean of Abertay’s School of Design and Informatics, said: “This accolade reflects the exceptional teaching and learning that takes place at Abertay and further cements our position among the world’s very best institutions for video games education.
“To achieve this ranking year after year is only made possible through academic colleagues’ commitment to excellence, and the school’s ability to keep pace with the changing demands of the global games industry.”
The latest accolade builds on Abertay’s worldwide reputation for international excellence in the video games sector.
The university was the first in the world to offer degrees in computer games and ethical hacking.
As part of the university’s hacking course undergraduate students are taught offensive security.
It follows the recent launch of the ÂŁ12m InGame partnership which is led by Abertay University.
The partnership aims to undertake research and development with the games industry in Dundee, Scotland and across the UK.
Abertay offers a wide range of games programmes with graduates going on to work in a variety of fields.
The university also moved to 16th in the world for undergraduate study in The Princeton Review
It is also rated at ninth in the world for postgraduate study in video games.
The guide looks at the quality of the faculty, technology and student career prospects at the university’s reviewed.
The assessors take into account more than 40 data points when compiling The Princeton Review.
Robert Franek, editor-in-chief for The Princeton Review, praised Abertay University.
