Fundraisers have collected £1,300 to help a Dundee schoolboy who had his leg amputated after he was trapped under a van.
Marcus Burnage was walking home from school with his mother when the accident happened on Charleston Drive, in Menzieshill, on March 26.
The 11-year-old was stuck under the vehicle for 30 minutes.
He lost his left leg as a result of the horrific injuries he suffered. His left leg was also broken in the crash.
Family and friends decided to act to help Marcus and set up an online fundraising page.
The appeal was led by Emma Hann and her daughter Polly Watt, who are friends of the Burnage family.
Polly said: “We originally tried to raise £5,000 but we didn’t know how much we would raise.
“We then aimed to raise £10,000 and so far we have collected £1,295 in just under three weeks.
“A lot of people wanted to help Marcus and it has gone really well and it’s incredible how fast the appeal has blossomed.”
Polly said Marcus had stayed positive throughout his experience and had shown tremendous courage, despite his injuries.
Among the supporters is solicitor Stuart McRobbie, who studied at Dundee University of Dundee, and donated an unknown sum of money to the appeal.
He has also offered the youngster a hospitality day at Dundee United Football Club or Dundee Football Club as soon as he is well enough to attend a match.
Speaking after the accident Michelle Burnage said: “My little brother was in an accident, he had serious injuries to his legs which led to the amputation of his left leg.
“He had a small check up on his legs he’s not completely out of the woods but all looks positive on his road to recovery.
“He is one amazingly brave wee man, I am a super proud big sister he has remained positive and is moving himself about brilliantly.
“This boy is so strong, he can truly do anything and always with a smile on his face.”
The accident was a bitter blow to the family after Marcus’ sister Michelle gave birth to a stillborn baby Addison in December.
