A “suspicious bag” found on Dundee’s Perth Road is a “false alarm”, police have confirmed.
Officers rushed to Airlie Place following the discovery of a bag just before 3pm but are now leaving the scene.
Dundee University Students Association and the university’s nursery at the top of Airlie Place were both evacuated as a precaution.

A large stretch of Perth Road was closed to vehicles and pedestrians as police dealt with the incident.
Nobody has been hurt.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Officers attended at Airlie Place, Dundee after reports of a bag left.
“Appropriate measures were put in place after concerns were raised.
“There was nothing suspicious within the bag. Thank you to the public for their patience whilst this was ongoing.”
