The rain poured for the first day of summer graduations at St Andrews University yesterday.
Rugby legend Sir Ian McGeechan was recognised for his contribution to the sport with an honorary doctorate as graduation ceremonies got under way at
St Andrews University.
The former rugby union player and coach received an honorary Doctor of Science degree at the ceremony, which saw degrees conferred on students of physics, philosophy, film studies and social anthropology.
