Public consultation is now open on sweeping changes to the Dundee school estate.
The city council’s children and families services committee agreed to start formal consultations on two proposals last month.
One of the changes would see the boundary line for Harris Academy redrawn, cutting Invergowrie out of its catchment area.
The other entails closing Braeview Academy and Craigie High School and replaced with a new school in Drumgeith Road.
A resultant catchment area change would see some Craigie High pupils transferred to Grove Academy as opposed to going to the new school.
This would affect any pupils living south of Arbroath Road.
Invergowrie parents voiced their frustrations at the plans to freeze out their children from Harris Academy at a meeting held by education minister John Swinney last week.
They expressed concerns over safety and the health implications of having to make a 40-mile round trip to Perth, among other topics.
Mr Swinney made clear at the meeting he was acting as MSP for Invegowrie and not as education minister. He urged residents to contribute to the consultation.
