Pupils in St John’s Academy are celebrating the arrival of Teddy, a nurture dog, to their school.
Using funds from the Pupil Equity Fund, students at the Perth school had the opportunity to shortlist and vote for their most important school improvement and chose to bring in a nurture dog for the support for learning department.
The young people within the support department chose the name Teddy due to his allergy-friendly coat.
The cockapoo will be cared for by the principal teacher of support for learning, Lesley McGillivray.
She said: “Already Teddy’s impact on our young people can be seen.
“He’s already joined some pupils on the North Inch for a stroll and his lovable ways are helping to sooth anxieties with some of our young people.”
