The clock is ticking down to Christmas and this year we have a special date to add to your festive diary.
Our first ever Evening Telegraph Christmas Concert takes place on Sunday December 4, and tickets are on sale now.
Schools and youth groups will perform a series of festive favourites in our Meadowside office.
Audiences at the two performances are in for a real treat, as children and young people taking part are already practising to put on a show to remember.
And you can snap up your tickets now for the 1.30pm and 4.30pm performances.
Taking part are:
- Dundee NYCOS
- High School of Dundee
- Dundee Youth Music Theatre
- Braeview Academy
- Harris Academy
- Tayside Makaton Choir
We hope the event will become a regular feature of Christmas in Dundee, inspired by the annual festive concert our sister newspaper the Evening Express has staged in Aberdeen for more than 50 years.
What’s more, local schools will benefit, as proceeds from ticket sales will go to our Pounds for Primaries initiative in which local schools collect tokens to share in a £10,000 prize pot.
Evening Telegraph editor Dave Lord said: “It has been a really tough couple of years, and Christmas just hasn’t been the same with all the coronavirus restrictions.
“That has hit children particularly hard so this year, with the rules lifted, we are determined to make the most of the festive season.
“There is nothing quite like a Christmas song to get everyone in the mood and I can’t wait to hear what the children have in store for us.
Join us for what is sure to be a very special celebration, in support of a very good cause.”

“The shows on December 4 will be hosted in our Meadowside city centre HQ, which is an absolutely fabulous space.
“I have no doubt it will be prove to be a day to remember for both the young people taking part and our audience.
“I would urge people to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment and join us for what is sure to be a very special celebration, in support of a very good cause.”
