Dundee schools recorded 164 incidents of bullying last year.
The schools which reported the highest number were Craigie High School, which recorded 38 incidents, and Clepington Primary School, 33.
Both Morgan Academy and St John’s High School reported 15.
We obtained these statistics through a freedom of information request to Dundee City Council, and are publishing them for each school during anti-bullying week.
Out of Dundee City Council’s 41 primary and secondary schools, 17 did not report a bullying incident to the local authority during the 2021/22 academic year.
How many bullying incidents did each Dundee school record?
City-wide the number of incidents recorded was significantly lower than the 252 in 2018/19, the last year when schools were not closed by the pandemic.
Dundee City Council described the data for bullying incidents as “relatively stable”, in relation to the number and nature of incidents.
Variations, it claimed, were down to the the consistency of recording, interpretation by staff of guidance and relationships within schools.
All allegations of bullying are, it said, taken extremely seriously and thoroughly investigated.
A spokesperson said: “Families are involved in the process and appropriate action will be taken where necessary.”
Each school, he said, has its own anti-bullying policy.
