Parents at Townhill were among those out clearing the snow at the weekend.
Thousands of Fife youngsters are back in the classroom this morning – but there is still some disruption to school transport.
All of the region’s schools were due to reopen as normal following four full days off due to the recent wintry spell of weather, albeit most teachers and staff returned on Monday.
However, despite every effort to clear the snow, conditions are still not safe for buses on some routes.
Fife Council said it estimated that 92% of the 220 bus services will run on Tuesday March 6, but some will run but with changes to the route and/or pick up points to enable safe passage.

PRIMARY SCHOOLS: Anstruther, Balmerino, Blairhall, Buckhaven, Commercial, Crossgates, Donibristle, East Wemyss, Foulford, Limekilns, McLean, St Columba’s & Castlehill, St Margarets.
HIGH SCHOOLS: Auchmuty, Beath, Bell Baxter, Dunfermline, Glenwood, Inverkeithing, Madras College, Lochgelly, Levenmouth Academy, Queen Anne, St Andrews, St Columba’s, Waid Academy, Woodmill.
