A Fife headteacher has confirmed that an alleged bullying incident which went viral on the internet has been dealt with.
Video footage showing one pupil repeatedly punching a smaller boy at Woodmill High in Dunfermline has been viewed 1.5 million times since Friday morning and has been shared more than 39,000 times on Facebook.
The scenes were roundly condemned by many on social media, and Sandy McIntosh, rector at Woodmill High, said: “Any form of bullying and fighting in our school is not acceptable.
“I’d like to reassure parents and carers that we dealt with this incident promptly on Friday morning and our focus today will be making sure calm is restored across the school.”
