Families of pupils at fire-ravaged Braeview Academy have been updated on provisions for classes following the October break.
Youngsters in S1-2 will return to Baldragon Academy and S3-S6 will continue lessons at Craigie High while work continues on providing portable cabin-style accommodation at the former site.
A date has yet to be confirmed for a return to Braeview, following a major fire in September, but council bosses said there was a “determined effort” to make it happen as soon as possible.
Parents will be updated on the progress during a meeting at the North East Campus, Lothian Crescent, on October 24 at 6.30pm. The evening will also provide an opportunity for families to ask questions.
Work is continuing for the use of the remaining practical subject areas at Braeview for design technology, sciences, drama, art and design and PE.
The school is also working closely with council engineering staff to provide portable cabin accommodation, which will replace the classrooms and other areas located in the damaged part of the building.
Dundee City Council has confirmed learning and teaching areas will be equipped with appropriate fixtures, fittings and IT. A dining hall area will also serve hot and cold meals.
Councillor Stewart Hunter, the local authority’s children and families convener, said: “I would like to praise [Braeview head teacher] Lesley Elder and her staff for the hard work that is ongoing to maintain the education of these young people in the face of these difficult circumstances.
“The wider school community has really pulled together to help, as have organisations and businesses across the city.
“There is a determined effort ongoing across council service departments to ensure that these young people can return to the school site as soon as possible.”
An October study school for S4-S6 pupils will take place during the holiday fortnight, beginning on Monday, to provide a range of extra study morning and afternoon options.
Subjects will be offered at a variety of levels and include English, computing, computer games development, business studies, PE, hospitality, geography, modern studies, chemistry, biology, maths, French, art and design, and drama.
Pupils will be taken by bus from Braeview Academy to Craigie High and back to attend the sessions, which are detailed in full on the school website.
Ms Elder said: “I am very impressed, but not at all surprised by the commitment of our staff to promoting the attainment of the pupils, during what has been a challenging time for everyone.
“The very strong sense of school community continues to be expressed by staff and pupils through the use of the social media tagline #WeAreBraeview.”
