Broadway comes to Dunfermline when ‘Stand By Me – The Story of Ben E King and The Drifters’ is staged at the Alhambra Theatre.
The show tells the story of the band which helped define Atlantic Records and were forerunners to both the black music movement in 1950s America and early Motown.
Though some of Ben E King & The Drifters most well-known hits including ‘Under The Boardwalk’, ‘Save The Last Dance For Me’ and ‘Saturday Night At The Movies’, it explores through the music the challenges, controversy and conflicts via the course of a vast succession of over 50 hits over the last six decades.
The group Othello includes some of the former members of The Drifters line up who have all played an integral part in the bands 60 year legacy along with over 65 others over the history of The Drifters brand.
The Drifters, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
