Comedy series Hoff The Record starring David Hasselhoff has won an International Emmy, in a night of British success at the awards show.
The UK production, which features the former Baywatch star playing a fictionalised version of himself, won in the comedy category at the ceremony in New York.
Hoff The Record, which airs on TV channel Dave, follows Hasselhoff in a mockumentary-style after he moves to Britain to get his career back on track.
BBC drama Capital won the International Emmy for best TV movie/mini series, while Dustin Hoffman received the best actor award for his performance in the BBC One TV movie Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot.
The Oscar-winning star played a lonely retired bachelor who hatches an audacious plan to woo a widow overly fond of her pet tortoise in the flat below.
Capital, which starred Toby Jones, told the story of a group of South London residents whose lives are affected when their homes become valued at several million pounds in a soaring property market.
German thriller Deutschland 83, which aired on Channel 4 in the UK, won best drama series, while Shonda Rhimes, the producer of hit shows Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy and How To Get Away With Murder, was presented with an honorary International Emmy.
A total of 40 nominees from 15 countries competed in 10 categories at the International Emmys, which honour excellence in TV programming outside the US.
The ceremony was hosted by Perthshire born Scottish actor Alan Cumming.
