Del Amitri frontman Justin Currie is to play a rare solo show in Kirkcaldy this autumn as part of a bumper programme of events to close out the year.
The 53-year-old has been confirmed for the Adam Smith Theatre on October 20 as part of the popular Tae Sup Wi a Fifer series, while Idlewild singer Roddy Woomble is also being lined up for a trip to the Lang Toun in November.
The news comes as ONFife unveiled its autumn/winter programme of events, highlighting an impressive range of music, drama, comedy, cinema, visual art and museum exhibitions planned across the Kingdom in the coming months.
From Shakespeare with a twist to spooktacular crafts across your local library, there’s plenty on offer for the young and young at heart.
In theatres this season, Fife will welcome 80s pop heartthrob Jason Donovan and former Runrig frontman Donnie Munro to Carnegie Hall for two very different nights of story and song, as well as a Fife exclusive with Scottish Album of the Year award winners Aidan Moffat and RM Hubbert.
Over in Glenrothes, original X Factor sensations G4 and disco king Leo Sayer bring the dance to Rothes Halls, while Lochgelly Centre beckons rock godfathers Wishbone Ash and folk legend Rab Noakes to the region.
Festive treats are also in store as Imagine Theatre prepares a new take on Beauty and The Beast for Adam Smith Theatre and Tiny Little Christmas Festival returns to Carnegie Hall after a smash 2017 debut.
In museums, Paper From Across The Sea opens alongside the extremely popular family-friendly gardening show, Blooming Marvellous, which people can still catch at Dunfermline Carnegie Libraries and Galleries until October.
Over in Kirkcaldy Galleries, 120 years of Kirkcaldy Photographic Society will be celebrated with a major retrospective taking place alongside fascinating talks and events.
Libraries will celebrate National Libraries Week in October, Book Week Scotland in November and an ongoing range of dementia-friendly events throughout the season.
There will also be Fun Palaces, where art and science will combine in a range of fun activities and workshops for all ages.
And in Scotland’s Year of Young People 2018, a gig has been planned in partnership with a group of winter high school leavers on Friday November 2 at the Rothes Halls as part of a Dark Days project.
