Singer Gary Barlow will lend his voice to help raise funds for soldiers affected by the trauma of war.
The Take That star will make a guest appearance at a charity concert next month in support of Hidden Wounds, a division of armed forces charity Help For Heroes.
Barlow will be joined at the gig in the Vulcan hangar at Doncaster Sheffield Airport by record producer and songwriter Eliot Kennedy, who has worked with a host of British acts including the Spice Girls and The Wanted.
The concert will also launch the debut album of Joanne Heselden-Edwards, whose father invented the Bastion barrier system that has saved thousands of soldiers’ lives and is standard military equipment for both British and American forces.
Barlow said: “I’m delighted to be part of a fantastic night for an amazing cause.”
Kennedy said: “Jo asked me to make an album of her singing all her father’s favourite songs, and we decided to use that as the basis for a charity concert, Hidden Wounds.
“When I went to Camp Bastion with Gary to entertain the troops, I had first-hand experience of the Bastion – it was there to protect us all – and Jo wanted to continue this incredible family legacy.”
Barlow’s reputation for staging more impromptu performances has soared in the last few years, appearing in shopping centres and fan weddings by request.
The Hidden Wounds Charity Concert will take place on November 12.
