Known as The Galway Boy, Mike Denver is one of Ireland’s top entertainers.
He won the Entertainer of the Year Award and Album of the Year for Cut Loose at the Irish Country Music Awards earlier this year.
So when he heads to Dundee’s Whitehall Theatre on November 13, you can guarantee it’s going to be a night to remember.
His shows are high energy, featuring hits such as Wasn’t That A Party, Tommy K, Galway Girl, Paddy, Hills of Donegal and his latest single, Oklahoma Home.
To date, Mike has recorded 14 albums and four DVDs and it’s from them he picks his programme for the night.
Mike, 36, from Galway, spent years gaining experience performing with his mum from the age of sixteen until he was spotted by music manager Willie Carty.
“The fans are the most important thing in any singer’s career because without fans you have nothing,” said Mike.
“I have very loyal fans who travel the length and breadth of the country to my gigs.
“I spend a lot of time with my fans both before and after the gig chatting.
“I’m very lucky that they will wait after a gig to talk to me. I’m happy to listen to what they want to talk about.
“It’s amazing to hear all their stories and it’s good to be part of their ups and downs because at the end of the day they are no different to mine.”
