A fusion of Canadian, Scottish and Irish music will arrive in the East Neuk when The Outside Track perform at Crail Folk Club.
The band, whose five members originate from Scotland, Ireland, Cape Breton and Vancouver, combine their love of traditional music with the creation of new tunes using fiddle, accordion, harp, guitar, flute, step-dance and vocals.
The line-up, who between them stack up an impressive amount of international awards and nominations, comprises Norah Rendell (Canadian traditional singer of the year nominee),Mairi Rankin (beolach), Ailie Robertson (live Ireland winner,BBC Young Trad Finalist), Fiona Black (BBC Fame Academy winner), and Cillian O´Dalaigh.
Blending “boundless energy with unmistakable joie-de-vivre, as a group they won ‘Best Group’ in the 2012 Live Ireland Music Award, a ‘Tradition In Review’ award, and were nominated for the 2013 MG Alba Scots Traditional Music Award.
For their album Flash Company they also won the German Radio Critics’ Prize.
