Two of the biggest names in music will be amongst those featured during the final week of Byre in the Botanics, held under cover within St Andrews Botanic Gardens.

On Saturday July 22, former Ultravox frontman Midge Ure will take to the stage with semi-acoustic duo, India Electric Company.

And on Thursday July 27, the event will feature trombonist legend Chris Barber who has been one of the most important figures in British traditional jazz for over 50 years.

Midge Ure has a career that spans over 40 years – from his “pop band” beginnings, “almost” joining the Sex Pistols, the electronic ground breaking work with Visage via the mainstream success of Ultravox to the twists and turns of his solo releases.

Meanwhile, Chris Barber plays a wide ranging repertoire from New Orleans to classic Duke Ellington tunes. This will be a rare chance to hear a jazz legend accompanied by a fabulous band who tightly knit the sounds of jazz and blues.
