Online celebrations have taken place as a Perthshire arts centre smashed its survival fund target.
Birnam Arts at Dunkeld launched a £20,000 fundraising campaign last month to keep the venue afloat as the arts industry struggles with the impact of Covid-19.
The initial target was hit in the first week of the fundraiser, prompting bosses to raise it to £30,000.
The group threw an online party for supporters on Friday evening to mark the achievement.
General manager at the centre, James Irvine said: “We are totally, completely and utterly blown away by the generosity of everyone who has supported us.
“Whether that’s been through purchasing a reward, giving straight-up donations, offering very generous items from their business, or by sharing posts and flyers with family and friends, every single action has had a lasting effect in helping to secure our future.
“Birnam Arts is now in a much stronger financial position that really will help us to keep the doors open and we couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you.”
Arts Development and Marketing Officer, Kate Bell said the celebrations were open to everyone so the team could thank supporters in person.
“Reaching our stretch target is an incredible achievement which at the very least will help to fund three months of building and operational costs”, she said.
“Everything we raise will have a hugely positive impact upon our long term sustainability and is gratefully accepted.”
The venue normally offers a packed programme of events throughout the year. It recently reopened after lockdown, but with limited capacity and activities.
