A Tayside artist has published a graphic novel about Dundee and Perth’s early settlers.
Alfie Pound, 26, received an art award from the the Tay Landscape Partnership, a project led by Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust.
He went on to produce Settle Petal, a light hearted look at life during the Mesolithic period following one family in their search for the place to settle down.
Alfie, who lives in the Hilltown, said: “Since moving to Dundee some six years ago I’ve really fallen for Tayside in a big way.
“The landscape, the people, the accents, everything about it.
“Having the opportunity to make comics about its history is such a pleasure.”
The graphic novel was exhibited at the AK Bell Library in Perth and print copies are available from Alfie at a_pound@hotmail.com
Lisa Snedden, TayLP’s Learning and interpretation officer, said “We all enjoyed reading Settle Petal so much we wanted to share it with everyone.
The TayLP have now commissioned Alfie to produce another graphic novel focusing on Kenneth MacAlpin and the Birth of Alba.
