Nature-lovers are being called upon to help out the red squirrel population at Forfar Loch Country Park in the coming weeks.
A NatureScot grant of £250 means the park’s Treesy For Reds project can get under way.
The project involves linking up red squirrel habitats in the area by planting mixed woodland on the south side of Forfar Loch. The idea is to enhance the wildlife corridor for the protected reds, providing them with more food.
It was also mean that when mature, the squirrels will get to spend less time on the ground and more time in the treetops.
Volunteers of all ages and abilities are invited to donate a small amount of time to the project across several planned days, the first of which is next Monday, November 14.
To get involved, anyone interested can email forfarloch@angusalive.scot or call 01307 461118.
