Legendary 1970s folk-rock pioneers Lindisfarne are playing three nights at Backstage at the Green Hotel, Kinross.
The three dates – Friday December 2, Saturday December 3 and Sunday December 4 – feature a classic five-piece line-up of long-time members fronted by founder-member Rod Clements on vocals, mandolin, fiddle and slide guitar.
They then play the Aviemore Folk Festival on Monday December 5 before continuing their tour down south.
With a repertoire of songs like Meet Me On The Corner, Fog On The Tyne, Lady Eleanor and Run For Home and a reputation for live performance, Lindisfarne’s power to galvanize audiences remains undimmed and is guaranteed to get the crowd on their feet and singing along.
History of the band
Lindisfarne first appeared out of Tyneside in the early ’70s with an instantly recognisable style.
Whilst mainstream chart success did not stay with them, Lindisfarne remained as popular as ever on the live circuit.
The ’90s saw a resurgence of interest in their music and albums Here Comes The Neighbourhood 1998 and Promenade 2002 have been received as enthusiastically as anything from the band’s past.
