Dundee musician Andrew Baird is inviting budding Tim Rices or Bernie Taupins of every age and stage to an ‘absolute beginners’ songwriting workshop.
The 32-year-old, who goes by Patchworks when he’s up on stage delivering acoustic tunes to the city’s bars and cafes, says attendees don’t need any equipment or experience – only to “be able to hum a melody and be a person”.
The intimate songwriting workshop will take place on December 8 at Fika, on Perth Road, from 6-8pm, and new writers are encouraged to come along.
“We listen to music and share writing tips, and then come up with ideas for songs to share at the next on, so we’ll end up with a wee library of tunes,” says Andrew.
“It’s for all levels and we just have a bit of fun with it.”
Tickets for £5 each and can be purchased on the event webpage.
