An exhibition of images by one of Britain’s top photojournalists is being held alongside the Dundee University degree show.
The event, which features 31 photographs by Michael Peto, is also part of the university’s 50th anniversary celebrations and aims to showcase some of the collections in the institution’s archives.
Michael Peto – Photographs From The Peto Collection, is being held at the Cooper Gallery for the duration of the degree show, which runs until May 28.
Among the famous faces featured are Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela, the Beatles and Harold Wilson.
The full Peto collection contains over 130,000, mainly black-and-white images taken by the Hungarian photo-journalist.
Michael Peto photographed the greats of the 1950s and 60s and documented everyday life.
Born Mihály Petö in 1908 in the Hungarian village of Bata, he was part of the country’s talented diaspora that fled before the Second World War.
After settling in London he initially worked as a writer before training as a photographer. He began working for the Observer in 1949 and went on to chronicle the next two decades.
Peto died on Christmas Day in 1970 at the age of 62.
