Today sees The Courier celebrate 200 years of publishing news and, obviously, 100 years ago the paper celebrated its centenary.
Founded months after the end of the Napoleonic War, 100 years on and Europe was embroiled in a very different kind of conflict.
In the days when The Courier ran to just six, or occasionally eight, pages, the editor decided to include a bumper eight page pull-out dedicated to the newspaper’s history.

From a small office above a pub to the majestic Meadowside building, The Courier has had several homes. As of 2016 The Courier still owns the same building, which is currently undergoing renovation.
