SPONSORED: Support your local with Budweiser’s Save Pub Life scheme

Budweiser is supporting local pubs with a new gift card scheme called Save Pub Life.

Aiming to help struggling pubs during the lockdown, the scheme will see Budweiser match gift card purchases.

Basically, if you buy a £20 gift card for your local pub, they’ll get £40 as Budweiser will double the value. You’ll then be able to spend your £20 voucher once the pubs reopen.

You can find out more about Save Pub Life – including answers to FAQs – online here.

And you can search for your local and buy a gift voucher here.

In the meantime, check out a few of the pubs in Courier country looking for support through Save Pub Life.

Doc Stewarts

Doc Stewarts on Strathmartine Road is closed but there are a couple of ways you can show some support:

  1. Buy a gift voucher through Save Pub Life and get ready to celebrate once the pub doors open.
  2. Order food for delivery.

From curry nights to American or Mexican platters, there’s something to suit all tastes.

Keep an eye out on the Doc Stewarts Facebook page for the latest specials, deals and giveaways.

The Duchess of Kirkcaldy

Buy a gift voucher for The Duchess of Kirkcaldy and once it’s open again, you can use it on cocktails, afternoon tea, gig tickets or food and drink.

The popular pub on Nicol Street, Kirkcaldy, is already seeing the benefits of the Save Pub Life campaign and the support of local customers.

Dallas Campbell from The Duchess of Kirkcaldy says: “It’s helped us pay two weeks furloughed wages before the reimbursement come through, as my business isn’t eligible for a government grant being over the rateable 51k value.

“I’ve had no other financial support so this is a godsend for a bit of support being paid forward by my loyal customers and community. It’s been a stressful, trying time not knowing where the next week’s wages for my 25 staff and utilities are coming from.

“I just want to say thank you and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back with open arms and a fully stocked bar and kitchen.”

The Muirs Inn

The Muirs Inn, Kinross, dates all the way back to the 1800s. Today, it has a long-established reputation thanks to its great restaurant and friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

On warm days you can enjoy a drink or a great meal in the courtyard, or get cosy inside instead in the bar, bar lounge or restaurant.

Afternoon teas are available and pets are also welcome in the bar!

Vouchers purchased through Save Pub Life can be used in the bar or restaurant once The Muirs Inn reopens.

The Strath Tavern

Whilst it’s shut, The Strath Tavern has been keeping its customers entertained with living room gigs and virtual quizzes – and they’re also making use of this time to redecorate the pub, too!

They look forward to welcoming everyone back once they’re able to reopen, and in the meantime, they’re very appreciative of those who’ve already bought a gift voucher.

You can also buy a Save Pub Life voucher here, to show your support for this local pub.
