SPONSORED: Your fairytale wedding can become a reality at the stunning Atholl Palace

With September being one of the most popular months for engagements, the wedding team at Atholl Palace in Perthshire is preparing to welcome local brides and grooms for their 2021 and 2022 celebrations.

More than 85% of all weddings that take place at this stunning countryside palace are booked by couples who live in and around Perth and Dundee, as they are drawn to its location, and not just because it is nearby.

That’s because there are weddings, and then there are ‘Atholl Palace weddings’. Most brides-to-be dream of a wedding venue in a turreted castle, set on a hill, with a long driveway, luxurious rooms and beautiful function suite – here, at Atholl Palace, you get it all!

So, at less than 30 miles from Perth and just over 40 from Dundee, your dream wedding can become a very achievable reality.

Catherine Guthrie, Atholl Palace’s wedding coordinator tells us what couples can expect when booking here: “It really is a warm, friendly hotel that adds a nice fairytale feel to your wedding. All 80 staff members who work here are like one big working family, and they get to know the couple and get involved in their big day – you have got our full attention from the moment you walk through our doors.

“Whether you have family coming from down south or abroad, all your guests will be guaranteed a warm Scottish welcome here at Atholl Palace.”

Unlike some venues, at Atholl Palace there are no open days or wedding fayres, as its wedding coordinator wishes to invite you to visit at any time of year – not when dozens of other couples are there. That’s the personal approach that Atholl Palace offers you, right from the very start, and this continues throughout the booking process, during the preparations and on the big day itself.

Catherine always looks forward to meeting the couples and welcoming them back year-after-year for anniversaries and other special occasions.

July and August can be a popular time, not just for weddings but other functions at the hotel, but staff will always to try to accommodate you, if they can. And, if you are planning to have a small, intimate wedding for around 30-40 guests – and your date coincides with another wedding at the hotel – do not worry, as Atholl Palace can still host your fairytale wedding, and, because you will be celebrating in a separate part of the hotel in the beautiful Bow Lounge, you will not even be aware another event is taking place in the main Atholl Suite.

The Atholl Suite, which is located in an annex outside the main hotel building, is more than ready to host bigger weddings in 2021 and 2022 after undergoing a refurbishment programme earlier this year. New carpets, décor and lighting have given it a fresh new look.

Then, at wintertime, Atholl Palace really comes into its own as snow can often be seen scattered on the hills surrounding Tummel Valley, which of course would be the perfect magical backdrop for your wedding photographs, before warming up inside in front of one of the hotel’s two log fires in the foyer and outside its restaurant or at the log burner in the cosy Stag’s Head Bar.

At Atholl Palace, there is a real feeling of escapism as a picturesque vista presents itself to you no matter what window you choose to look out of, especially the bay windows of the Bow Lounge. And because of the hotel’s location, perched on the top of a hill, you can admire the town below or the river Tummel running nearby.

If you have recently got engaged, or had to postpone your 2020 wedding, and are looking for the perfect venue for your nuptials, then consider Atholl Palace, as you won’t be disappointed.
