Dubai, UAE
Before joining the cruise, a 3 night stay in Dubai is ideal for exploring the former desert city. The 4* Wyndham Marina is perfectly located for exploring famous attractions, such as Jumeirah Beach, Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. Visiting the Burji Khalifa will literally have you feeling like you’re on top of the world. It stands at 828 metres (2,716.5 feet) and has 163 floors. Handily, the entrance is located in the Dubai Mall – perfect for an all-round great day out.
Khasab, Oman
Day 6 of the holiday sees Vision of the Seas dock in Khasab, a city in Oman which lies north-west of Muscat. Khasab is not an easy place to travel to and around so being part of a cruise tour is ideal. Often an organised shuttle service runs between the port and the town. Once there, gaze at the Oman Fjords or learn about Oman’s fascinating history at Khasab Castle, located about a 20 minute walk from port.
Muscat, Oman
Muscat is the capital of Oman and has a hot and humid temperature all year round. The lowest temperature at any time between November and February is 15 degrees Celsius. In Muscat, there is an array of attractions. You can see Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, idolise the interior of the Royal Opera house or bathe in the sunshine at Qurum Beach.
Abu Dhabi, UAE
Abu Dhabi is the largest city and centre of government within the United Arab Emirates. Despite not sharing the same allure with Westerners as Dubai, this city will spoil you for choice. Probably the most famous lankmark is the Sheikh Zayed Mosque. If doing a guided tour, which run several times per day, be wary that the dress code can be quite strict, especially for women. For a more relaxed environment; Khalifa Park is the best park in Abu Dhabi and features an aquarium, museum, children play park and formal gardens. For the alpha-male, Yas Island features the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 circuit, a Ferrari theme park, water park and a huge shopping mall.
