The fenestration specialists have reached out around the business community to put together a fantastic pot of 18 Christmas prizes.
Haylee Lilley, retail, sales and marketing manager, says: “We wanted to give back to local people over Christmas because we know it’s going to be difficult. We do a lot of charity work but we decided we wanted to involve a lot of other companies - some of our suppliers and local businesses. We asked them to give prizes so that people would have the opportunity to win gifts over Christmas to help towards what will be a very difficult time.”
The Big Christmas Giveaway is open to anyone and all you have to do is fill out an online form.
Each day in December Sidey will run a post dedicated to a company that has donated to the prizes.
Then on the 18th they will host a fun day at their Perth Showroom. Santa will be there and there will be goodie bags for kids. Tickets will be put in a big bucket and the children will pull them out.
Haylee adds: “You don’t need to be here on the day. All you have to do is register on our website.”
Sidey’s Christmas prizes
The full list of prizes is still under wraps but some of the treats include:
- An iPad
- £250 Smyth’s Toys voucher
- £250 Argos voucher
- A new front door from Sidey worth £1,500
- Meal vouchers
- Feeding the meerkats at Edinburgh Zoo
Companies donating include The Cutting Room, Signs Design, V&A, Live Active, Rabbit Hole, T’Go Creative, LOCALiQ, Squire, Master Frame Sash Windows, Effies, Gillies, Nor Dan, STV, Perth Racecourse, Fair City Electrical Services and the Independent Network.
Haylee says: “A £250 toy voucher is somebody’s Christmas. It’s nice to be able to help. We have been running an energy efficiency campaign but coming up to Christmas all people are worrying about is how they’re going to pay for things. So giving back, it’s just spreading a bit of Christmas cheer.”
Sidey gives back to the community
The Big Christmas Giveaway is just the latest in Sidey’s outreach efforts.
The firm donates to a number of charities, including the Scottish Air Ambulance and local boys football teams.
They also allow an employee to pick a charity every quarter that will be handed £500.
In another popular initiative Premiership team Hibs have been going into schools and teaching pupils about energy efficiency, with Sidey covering the cost.
There is also Sidey’s Special Moments where kids who have been having a bad time are taken to local football clubs to spend the day with them, have lunch and go to football matches.
Haylee adds: “We really want to give back to the community. We know it’s difficult for lots of people and as a large company we definitely think we should be making a difference.”
