It was an evening of glitz and glamour filled with laughter, great food and dancing at The Menu Food and Drink Awards last night.

Celebrating the best of local food and drink from across Tayside and Fife,14 winners were crowned at the event which took place at The Old Course Hotel in St Andrews.

Around 230 guests gathered to raise a glass to those who had been shortlisted as finalists as host for the night Scotland’s National Chef, Gary Maclean, took to the stage to open the event.

The night kicked off with a drinks reception at 6:30pm and The Courier editor, David Clegg, welcomed everyone after the awards two-year hiatus.

A gala dinner was then served at 7:30pm consisting of a five-course menu. Each course had been created and cooked by a local chef with canapes from Praveen Kumar, starters from Ian Syme, a fish course from Dean Banks, main course from Martin Hollis and dessert by Derek Johnstone.

The awards ceremony then commenced at around 10:15pm which saw 14 different businesses be crowned winners. A few highly commended awards were also handed out to deserving runners up.

To end the night on a high, guest were invited to dance the night away at the silent disco, or also had the opportunity to mingle and network with others in the hospitality, food and drink industries.

It was a night to remember not only for the winners of the awards but for all who attended, and it was a well needed celebratory night after the past two challenging years.
